SunShine Shack is Back
Have you discovered the SunShine Shack?
So, I first discovered the SunShine Shack in 2014. It’s a small shack located on the tiny Caribbean island of Anguilla – on Rendezvous Bay. You can fly into St. Martin and Anguilla is just a 20 minute ferry ride (public and private ferries are available). Or, you can fly into San Juan and take a short flight on Seabourne into Anguilla directly.
The SunShine Shack is a magical place – where every hour is Happy Hour. True Anguillian hospitality. Amazing beach views. The softest white sand. Turquoise waters. Gentle breezes. The Shack is known for Garvey Lake’s infectious smile, delicious fall off the bone ribs, rum punch, and reggae music. You can dance, play corn toss, American football, soccer, float, or do nothing at all. The choice is yours. It has a casual, laid-back vibe and you won’t want to leave.
If you have not booked your next vacation, consider Anguilla. The island gets in your soul.

AJC article | “Absolutely beautiful, the sheer monster size of it”
Today the Atlanta Journal/Constitution is featuring an article on the A380’s arrival at Atlanta’s Hartsfield Jackson International Airport. You might ask why this is important? Last Sunday, September 1st, was the first landing of Korean Airlines flight 35 from Seoul, Korea to Atlanta. For av geeks (aviation geeks) like myself, this is big news. I was there to witness the special moment in Atlanta’s aviation history and took lots of pictures, which I shared here and on Twitter and Instagram.
To read the article, click “Absolutely beautiful, the sheer monster size of it”. The piece focuses on av geeks. My friends’ the Airline Guys are prominently featured and there is a quote from yours truly. Travel blogging started for me in 2012, and I can honestly say that when the travel bug bit me at age 14, I never anticipated that one day I would have the opportunity to share my travel ideas, opinions, and photos with others on my own own blog, Twitter world or in a major local publication. I end by encouraging other bloggers to keep pressing and stay focused on blogging about your passions.

Korean Air inaugurates A380 service to Atlanta
What a great blog post regarding the new Korean Air A380 to Atlanta. Kudos to my friends The Airline Guys for always providing great insights into the airline industry. Check it out.
It had been a long time coming. The arrival of the Airbus A380 to ATL, that is. While other airports welcomed the A380 with opened runways and taxiways, ATL wasn’t ready or prepared for the arrival of the world’s largest passenger airplane.
The title of a 2005 article in AccessNorthGa summed it up: “Airbus A380 won’t be landing in Atlanta anytime soon”. During this time airport general manager, Ben DeCosta stated ATL is not approved to land the A380 and didn’t think the market could support the double-decker superjumbo. Furthermore, it would also cost millions of dollars to widen taxiways and install additional jetways to help offload passengers on this plane which can accommodate between 500-800. Back then airport spokeswoman Felicia Browder said, “It’s just not the time or place. That’s just the mind of the (airport’s) leadership right now.”
Fast forward to September 1, 2013. After a few cancelled…

Love is In the Air: What do You Want for Valentine’s Day?
The month of February, February 14th brings love in the form of Valentine’s Day. For some, Valentine’s Day means flowers, candy, balloons, cards, cupcakes, expensive dinners, spa days, etc. Valentine’s Day, for those who celebrate it, can be very commercial. For some, especially women, Valentine’s Day can be a tough day if you do not have someone special to share it with. Does the commercial stuff equate to love? This year, I ask the question, what do YOU want for Valentine’s Day?
Famous LOVE quotes.
LOVE never fails.
LOVE cannot do other than LOVE.
It is LOVE alone that gives worth to all things.
” I accepted that true serenity and happiness come from a connection to LOVE.” ~ Gabby Bernstein
“LOVE is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own.” ~ Robert A. Heinlein
“The truest form of LOVE is how you behave toward someone, not how you feel about them.”
“We accept the LOVE we think we deserve.” ~ Stephen Chobsky
“Learn to LOVE yourself first, instead of loving the idea of other people loving you.”
“Where there is love there is life.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi.
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” ~ Holy Bible: New International Version.
What do I want for Valentine’s Day?
For me, Valentine’s Day is just one day. Love, true love, is not and never has been commercial. Love cannot be bought, sold, or traveled to. Love should be celebrated every single day, not just on Valentine’s Day. Love is not measured by what you receive, it is is in what you GIVE. Love is not about what you say, its’ far more measured by actions, what you do, what you GIVE. What I’ve learned is that everyone loves differently, and the love we have often changes and grows over time. What looks like love for me, may be different for you, but it’s all good. What I learned…. is that real love is not based on romance, candle light dinners, walks along the beach, how many times your partner/spouse/significant other says “I Love You”, or what your partner/spouse/significant other buys for you. In fact, real love is based on CARE, COMPROMISE, RESPECT, TRUST, and COMMITMENT.
What do I want for Valentine’s Day? To have and live in love every day, surrounded by family, friends, and the love of my life. I really want to live life with my soul mate. The one who loves me and accepts me, flaws and all, unconditionally. What do YOU want for Valentine’s Day? Would love to hear your feedback as we approach the season of LOVE.
